9 Mile Garden- A Hidden Gem

Do you love food trucks as much as I do? Maybe it’s just me, but I swear their food always tastes better than any restaurant. Food truck parks are the picky eater’s best friend, you can go with your friends and everyone will be able to find something that they want to eat because there is so much variety. If you’re a picky eater OR just a self-proclaimed foodie, then you would LOVE the 9 Mile Garden located in Affton, MO.

The 9 Mile Garden is Missouri’s first foot truck “garden”. This garden is a large open yard with a rotation of multiple delicious food trucks each day. You can go to their website to view the daily calendar and find out which trucks will be there each day. Some of the trucks in regular attendance consist of: Seoul Taco, Spud Shack, Sugarfire, Wok and Roll, Twisted Tacos, and so many more! Also located here is the Canteen, a draft house that offers a wide selection of draft beer from both local and national breweries alongside rotating draft wines and cocktails AND coffee on tap.

If food ranging from Indian to barbecue paired with your favorite beer isn’t enticing enough to have you running there ASAP, there are also live bands on Friday nights and outdoor movies projected on their 20-foot movie screens on Saturday nights. You’re encouraged to bring along the entire family, even your furry friends while you enjoy live entertainment along with food and drinks from your favorite local trucks.

On my most recent visit, I appreciated their care and consideration for the COVID-19 precautions. Everyone had masks on unless they were seated at a picnic table to eat and all of the tables were spaced 12-feet apart. Also, many of the trucks made their ordering process touchless by allowing you to order on your phone and they just shout your name when it is ready. These trucks all used disposable containers and silverware as well, so you don’t have to worry about who used the fork before you in the middle of a pandemic. I really enjoyed having a night out of the house without feeling too worried about potentially getting sick. If you’re eager to get back out of the house and eat some good food outdoors without any worries, I definitely recommend the 9 Mile Garden.
